Where to watch
Brother Alberto Maggi, of the Order of the Servants of Mary, is a biblical scholar living in Montefano, in the Marche region, where he founded a Centre for Biblical Studies. Because of ideas that anticipated those of Pope Francis by many years, the more conservative wing of the Church has always considered him a heretic.
In the spring of 2012 he was taken ill and admitted to intensive care at the hospital in Ancona. He stayed there for three months and underwent three complex and dangerous operations. Through the long days alone in his room he kept a diary, which went on to become a successful book.
The documentary was nominated for the David di Donatello awards.
