Ave Maria, with soprano Chiara Taigi

The Ave Maria that opens and closes Cercando Bernadette is the main theme of Bruno di Marcello’s documentary. I wrote it for soprano voice, and it is performed by Chiara Taigi.

Through the film the theme returns in different shapes, tied to the places of the story: the grotto of Massabielle, the water of the spring, the pilgrims’ walk. The voice carries the main line; the accompaniment deliberately stays underneath, so that Alberto Maggi’s narration is never covered.
