Context
Section titled “Context”JUCE 9 was chosen as the GUI/platform backend. No tagged Tracktion Engine release targets JUCE 9: release 3.2.0 was built for JUCE 8.0.6, the develop branch (3.5.0) pins JUCE 8.0.13. A probe build showed Tracktion develop at commit 5ee811e compiles and runs with JUCE 9.0.3.
Decision
Section titled “Decision”Use stock JUCE 9.0.3 and stock Tracktion Engine at develop commit 5ee811e1eb3ff922935b0f749222d062b187322a. No fork, no patches. The pin is updated deliberately, after the full test suite passes on the new commit.
Consequences
Section titled “Consequences”- Bug fixes from Tracktion’s development branch, at the cost of tracking an untagged commit.
- Capabilities missing from the stock engine are built as external extensions or as new ports, never by patching the engine.
